Az orosz Déli Áramlat tervének felfüggesztése újra aktuálissá tette a Nabucco Projekt megvalósításának témáját. Míg a gazvezeték-rendszer megépítését eddig lényegében csak Washington támogatta, addig most a terv megvalósulásában ismét érdekelté váltak az érintett térségbeli államok is. A Republikon Intézetben rendezett kerekasztal-beszélgetés a megvalósítás hármas dimenzióját vázolta fel, mely egyaránt érintette az aktuális gazdasági krízis kihatásait, az Unió államainak eltérő érdekérvényesítő szándékait az energiabiztonság terén, ugyanakkor a közel-keleti helyzetben remélt változásokat, mindenekelőtt az iráni politika módosulását. With plans for the Russian South Stream project suspended, the Nabucco Project is again on the table. Until now, Washington was the sole main supporter of constructing the gas pipeline, but today the countries in the region also have an interest in seeing this project go forward. The Republikon Institute’s roundtable discussion outlined the three primary dimensions of the Nabucco issue: effects of the current global economic crisis; the diverging energy security interests of the EU states; and hoped-for changes in the Middle East, particularly a change in Iran’s policy.
